Masdevallia and Dracula orchids grow in the cloud forests of the Andes in Colombia, Peru, Ecuador and Venezuela at a height of 500 to 3000m high. They are cool growing orchids and grow well in shady conditions with temperatures between 18C and 10C. They can grow well in shady humid greenhouses, inside the home with a humidity tray or a bathroom! Madevallia and Dracula orchids used to be under just the genus Masdevallia, they are beautiful flowers and dont take up much room to collect.
